The Pegasus Expedition
Studio Kalla Gameworks has announced the release date of the space 4X strategy The Pegasus Expedition. The game will be available on Steam Early Access on October 20th. At the start, players will be able to try out a full-fledged story campaign for 20 hours of gameplay, and in future updates, developers will add new scenarios and gameplay features.
The Pegasus Expedition is a story-driven sci-fi grand strategy game set at a pivotal moment in humanity’s survival. Faced with an unstoppable threat at home, humanity sends an expedition to the Pegasus galaxy in a desperate attempt to find shelter for the Earth’s population but finds itself in the middle of an interstellar war that it inadvertently started.
As you lead one of these fleets, your mission will soon shift from exploration to control, to conquest, and ultimately to survival. Players will have to go through a complex storyline in which nothing is taken for granted, and every decision will have its own consequences.
You can download a free demo of the game right now on Steam.
The release of Fallout 5 is still a long way off. So far away that you can forget about it. As Bethesda director Todd Howard previously said, the studio will first release Starfield, after which it will be the turn of The Elder Scrolls VI, and only then Fallout 5. The game is at a very early stage of pre-production, which means that time is being devoted to it in between other titles. As Howard pointed out last year, the studio only had a list of what they wanted to do.
Given this early stage, it’s impossible to say yet what setting Bethesda will choose for Fallout 5. The studio has shown that it can find a way to adapt any region of the United States to the needs of the series, even if this was not clearly stated in the lore.
PCGamesN spoke to Nate Perkeepile, who was an artist at Bethesda for 14 years before leaving to work on The Axis Unseen. Nate helped shape the settings and aesthetics of Bethesda’s Fallout games, and even if he’s not aware of the plans right now, he has his own dreams for Fallout 5.
Colorado is a fairly popular choice among fans of the series. Moreover, this area was partially represented in Fallout Tactics. So in this case, there is at least some primary source, even if many fans of the series do not consider Fallout Tactics as part of the lore.
In addition, Nate said that he would like to see more scale and use of technology. But he doesn’t think it’s possible, since the design of the world for technology requires a different approach. In such a game, interesting places and locations will be scattered over a large area, so you get something like Mad Max. However, if we take the wastelands of Central America as a basis, then a game in the style of Mad Max may well fit in.
